Device Requirements

Device Requirements

To use the application, you require an OBD2 device with an ELM327 chip capable of communicating via the VAG UDS protocol.

⚠️

At this time, the only type of device supported is one that supports Bluetooth Low Energy (4.0). The application will not work with a WiFi based device, or one that uses a legacy Bluetooth version.

Support is planned for WiFi based devices, due in 2024.

Supported Devices

Based on extensive user feedback and thorough internal testing, a range of devices has been evaluated for compatibility and reliability with the application. This process has also allowed several devices to be identified as incompatible.

While choosing a compatible device should ideally involve simply verifying its technical specifications, the presence of numerous fraudulent sellers in online marketplaces complicates this process. These sellers often provide misleading information, making it challenging for consumers to make informed decisions.

To assist you, this article outlines a list of recommended devices that are known to work well with the application, as well as those that should be avoided due to compatibility issues as previously mentioned.
